03 How we build

Howaproductgetsmade

01

Start with the job

We pick a problem a real person has, talk to people who have it, and write it down properly before anyone opens a design tool. Our founder is a technical business analyst by trade, so every product starts with a requirements doc and a map of how the work actually happens.

  • Discovery
  • Process mapping
  • PRDs
02

Design it before we build it

Screens get designed and argued over in Google Stitch until the flow feels obvious. Clickable prototypes come next, and people who'd actually use the thing get a look before a line of production code exists.

  • Google Stitch
  • Prototypes
  • User testing
03

Build on one lean stack

Every product runs on the same foundation: TypeScript, React and Postgres on Floot, with Stripe for payments and Cloudflare R2 where we need file storage. Because the stack is shared, a fix or a good idea in one product is quick to carry across to the others.

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Postgres
  • Stripe
04

Use AI where it earns its keep

AI writes the first draft of an Anthem Factory song and guides Pronto Tax customers through their return. Behind the scenes it helps us build faster. A person still checks anything that matters, like a tax return before it's lodged.

  • Claude
  • Human in the loop
  • AI pipelines
05

Launch, then keep going

After launch we look after hosting, payments, support emails and the steady run of small fixes. We own every product outright, so we're still the ones looking after it a year later.

  • Support
  • Iteration

05 One roof

06 Who's behind it

DanePorter,founder

Dane is a principal consultant and technical business analyst. He's spent his career delivering systems for government, healthcare technology companies and digital agencies, much of it on the integration work that makes different platforms talk to each other.

Cherry Ripe Software is where he builds products of his own, with the same habits he brings to client work: understand the process first, write it down, then build something people can actually use.
